Alfera's Far From Home Journey

Day 8 on the road...

This is a funny day, we are starting the day at the Air Force base and have decided to cut the day short by only traveling 300 miles or so. This will have us stay just outside of the capital of Kentucky, "Frankfort." I must say, I would have never guessed this was the capital.

This will be our last real day of travel, because we will be stopping in West Virginia on Tuesday night and staying with family that lives in Clarksburg. From there we will be in Mechanicsburg, PA the following day. That will be our break from travel for a couple of weeks.

We hope to share some times with family and friends and family. The folks that call themselves a support group (actually it is just an excuse to get together and eat and go shopping) and also some of the sights from West Virginia and South Central/Eastern Pennsylvania.

Today we were able to see how severe the thundershowers can be that just seem to blow through this area. It is amazing, the people here are so prepared for these storms the same as we prepare for earthquakes. They are great folks here and the campground we are staying at tonight is very nice.

We did pick up some wonderful Black Angus T-bone steaks this morning and tonight we will eat well and feel fat... LOL but, it has been pears and fruit most of the day, well, except for the Apple Fritter for breakfast. LOL

Life in the RV is something I have waited until now to talk about. Here we are, Karol, myself, Brandy, Miah, Joey and Abby.

Miah is a 100 pound Flat Coat Retriever (Golden Retriever and Black Labrador mix).

Joey is a 60 pound Black Labrador.

Abby is a 58 pound Black Labrador.

Brandy is a 74 pound Yellow Labrador.

Karol, you thought I was gonna go there didn't you? Hahaha, don't even think about it. LOL

As for me, I am a slim person who hardly takes up any room at all. Everybody else seems to just crowd me. I don't know what it is, just seems to happen that way. I will be tolerant and accepting of these trials and tribulations in life that I must endure. I guess I did ask them all to come along on this trip around the country. LOL

There will be a few pictures attached today. They are life as we know it in the RV. You will see this is our evening and we are working on finishing up our daily chores.

Karol writes cards.

The pups rest as they have been busy playing tug and wrestling on the bed while we drove today. Brandy was a bully and got the other pups off the bed. After we make the bed, they all get up there and then we have to ask if they will let us sleep there at night. They say yes, but then in the morning, it seems like the bed is now filled with Karol, myself and at a minimum of two pups.

Life is definitely interesting to say the least, but, always fun.

And last, I am working on the mail and downloading the pictures of the day.

This is us and to be honest, we are a family and love the trip we have been able to enjoy to date.

Please take care and we will write more from West Virginia,

Don, Karol and Company.
